If you want to spend the day imbibing outdoors but wine is more your thing, head to Three Fox, Only one hour west of DC, this winery is the perfect place to while away a day in the winery’s gardens, bocce courts or terrace; you can even enjoy your vino riverside in a hammock. Wines are Northern Italian style, like the Governor's Cup 2014 silver medalist, Pietmontese Nebbiolo, a dark and spicy blend of black cherry made in only a few Virginia wineries.
