Originally from France and now renowned in Belgium, the Trappist monks are as famous for the tasty ales they produce as they are for the vow of strict observance they adhere to. Stability, obedience, and faithfulness to the monastic life are the markers of the Order. The Trappists view brewing as a living expression of the power, gift, and wonder that only a benevolent universe could provide. Replace the words ‘Trappist’ and ‘brewing’ in that last sentence with ‘Jedi’ and ‘The Force’ and the exact same is true. Also, both look fabulous in hooded robes.
