4 Boozy Destinations and Weekend Getaways in Oregon |
Willamette Valley
Sokol Blosser (5000 Sokol Blosser Ln, Dayton, OR; 503-864-2282)
The new tasting room at Sokol Blosser is sophisticated and refined, yet approachable. If you’ve got footwear suitable for hiking, slip them on after you’re done tasting and hike the vineyard. You will learn about the history of the area, see newly planted vines, get schooled on Oregon wine country, and of course, wine tasting too. Hikes start around 10 AM and end around 2:30 PM. The cost is $75 per person. It’s worth paying to be led through, as we attempted to hike the vineyards with Sokol Blosser’s blessing without a guide during the off-season and just ended up muddy and lost. Back in the tasting room, don't forget to try the newer, affordable Evolution line.
