Molson Coors has announced plans to launch a new beer in the U.K. that will be aimed at females in an attempt to convince women that beer is, in fact, for all genders.
Oh, by the way, the beer will be pink in color and no, that’s no coincidence. It is likely because the hard-working scientists and market research team at Molson Coors recently came to the conclusion that all women love the color pink. The beer, which will be entitled Animée (how feminine of them), will be a sparkling drink that consists of lemon and rosé flavors. I can’t be the only one that doesn’t think that actually sounds like a beer.
Carlsberg’s recent release of their so-called “gender neutral” beer more than likely spurned Molson Coors to release a competitor. Both companies seem to have overlooked the simple fact that if they made beer that tasted good (or, say, tasted like beer), they might have a better time marketing it to everyone. Or, you know, they could cut it out with the sexist commercials that seem to be targeted toward the huge market of "mud-wrestling" fans.
I guess it’s a bit easier to make a beer that is pink. Yeah. That’ll do.
