No one was hurt in this Tsunami, but if you’re an oenophile, you might want to look the other way. A thirty-plus-year-old shelf holding nearly 7,000 bottles of wine spontaneously collapsed at Superior Discount Liquors in Sheboygan, WI, sending a cascade of red and white fermented grape mixed with frothy glass shards across the store.
An employee restocking nearby heard a little shift, according to the Sheboygan Press, and then he advisedly ran the other way as racks came crashing down. Though the incident occurred over the summer, the “vintage” smash is only now making national news, because the store – in a commendable show of good attitude – posted a YouTube video made from surveillance footage of the event. No use crying over spilled wine (especially if it gets you a viral video).
