Ice is one of the most important ingredients in a cocktail (we describe the top three ways to use ice here), and options to make your own cool cubes abound. There are silicon molds that produce huge spheres, trays to set you up with icy straws and casts to create ice that looks exactly like dentures, if you’re into that kind of thing. There are even trays etched with the letters of the alphabet, so you can spell out a marriage proposal in a perfectly crafted Tom Collins (anyone ever try this?).
However, we’ve come across the king of all ice shapes: Han Solo in Carbonite. This tray combines form and function in a beautifully designed ode to everybody’s favorite fictional-bounty-hunter-turned-rebel-fighter. Just think, with this cube in your cocktail, each sip brings Han closer to freedom.
Furthermore, we snagged a whole set of these trays for The Drink Nation offices, and we’re giving one away! All you have to do is hit the tweet button to enter to win.
