Ryan Reynolds & Aviation Gin have been teaming up to create some of the funniest ads in the business for quite some time now, and the latest video — a "making-of" featurette about the gin — is no exception.
In this cheeky, sarcastic video, Reynolds notes that the gin is made from seven "humanely caught" botanicals, each of which are misted by Reynolds' own tears, and before it's eventually bottled, the gin is not only blessed by the Unitarian Church of Fresno ("to ensure a heavenly taste") and serenaded by soothing Sarah McLachlan songs (which Reynolds describes as "healing").
Since Reynolds purchased Aviation (which he notes is "an American original, now owned by a Canadian) in early 2018, the gin brand's marketing has gotten markedly funnier, including a bitingly awkward video with Sir Richard Branson introducing the (very real) partnership between Aviation and Virgin Airlines.
Though the videos may seem over the top to some, as long as Aviation keeps making top-notch gin and pairing that with an excellent marketing campaign, it's likely to keep consumers both entertained while it delights their palates, so for the gin-drinking world, this continued collaboration is a win-win.
