From the Suite Life to the Mead Life, Dylan Sprouse is living his best life as the CEO and co-founder of All-Wise Meadery in Brooklyn.
So how did the former child star, whose twin brother currently is a series regular on The CW's Riverdale, get into the honey wine business? He told Cosmopolitan that he has actually been making the fermented beverage since he was 16, even taking the home brewing hobby to his NYU dorm room. After graduating in 2015, Sprouse worked for a local distillery before teaming up in fall 2017 with his friends Doug Brochu and Matt Kwan to open up All-Wise.
Sprouse told Munchies, “This, for me, is a passion project.” Adding that if he was just trying to invest his Disney money in something, “I probably would have done something a little more popular than mead.”
Right now, you can purchase All-Wise’s meads on their website. They offer two varieties currently, one a standard dry mead made with local honey and aged in oak ($30, 11% ABV) and another brewed with oolong tea and raw, unfiltered honey ($35, 12% ABV). The team behind the meadery has plans on opening a full bar and tasting room in Williamsburg later this year.
