New York based brewery Southern Tier has announced their latest spring release - “Thick Mint,” an imperial stout brewed with chocolate and mint. We see what you did there, Southern Tier, and we like it.
The beer is the latest in their Blackwater Series, which includes other dessert beers such as Creme Brulee, Choklat Oranj, and Salted Caramel. It clocks in at a whopping 10% ABV with a moderate bitterness and a full bodied texture. Brewed with mint and Belgian chocolate, those flavors are very present in the rich beer as well as malts and a hint of caramel.
The brewery’s website describes the brew as, “So delicately delicious, you’ll want to buy another box, er bottle.” Although the Girl Scouts haven’t officially backed this brew, we’re sure their parents would approve.
The beer is available in 12 and 22 ounce bottles or on draft. Find it here.
