Bill Murray is well known these days as a man who shows up at parties unexpectedly and takes over bars with the Wu Tang Clan. His reputation is so great that there is a meme dedicated to him: allegedly, he approaches people, performs a random act, and tells them that “no one will ever believe you”. While most of these stories are unverifiable, this time we’re pre-warned: Timeout reports that Bill Murray will be guest bartending at his son Homer Murray’s Brooklyn spot, 21 Greenpoint.
Murray Jr. co-owns the spot with Syd Silver, and it’s replacing their previous venture, The River Styx. Murray Sr. will be running the bar this weekend only, Friday, September 16 and Saturday, September 17—7 PM onwards. You’ll have to be there to find out if he’s willing to pour anything but tequila.
