What started as a way to raise awareness of genetic heritage pigs has turned into a nation-wide culinary event. Cochon555 and Punch Kings have returned for the 2016 season and will hit 10 cities this year. This event features master chefs and bartenders from around the country creating masterpieces of food and drink.
Cochon555 food events feature five local restaurants and chefs competing against each other. Each chef receives his or her own heritage pig, raised in a socially responsible way on small family farm, to cook, roast, and fire as they please as long as they use everything from snout to tail. Each event will have over 35 different dishes to sample. Punch Kings will feature award-winning bartenders competing to create unique punches with only one common ingredient, Breckenridge Bourbon of Colorado.
Cochon555 kicks off in New “Porc” City on January 24 and will travel around the country until the national finals in Snowmass, CO, in June and Napa, CA, in August. Events will take place in New York City, Minneapolis, Houston, Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Seattle, Washington DC and Chicago.
The events will run from 5 to 8 PM and tickets are $130.95 for General Admission for 5 PM entry and $208 for VIP entry at 4 PM. Other packages that include Chef’s Course reward packages are also available. Check the website for full information including tickets fees, dates, and time. Tickets can be purchased online in advance for all cities.
