4) Double Mountain Killer Green Fresh Hop IPA
An hour’s drive east of Portland you’ll find Hood River, OR, where Double Mountain treats hops like Picasso treated colors. Brewmaster Matt Swihart designed Hop Lava IPA to highlight the citrus scents of hops like Cascade and Centennial, and it’s available year round. With 83 IBUs, Killer Green is essentially a fresh hop version of Hop Lava - available only during the late summer harvest. One sip practically drops you in the middle of whichever hop field Swihart wants to showcase (7.2% ABV).
