Gift Idea: Craft Beer Basket

Christmas is getting closer by the hour (if you celebrate Hanukkah, you’ve got even less time), and unique gifts aren’t easy to find. The perfect solution? A craft beer basket, filled with the best from the local brew scene. Follow these steps to easy beer-filled holiday giving fun.

1) Obtain a basket. You can hit up your local arts & craft store, or hope to find one in the increasingly messy aisles of Target, but if you’ve got a few days left, Amazon will ship one to you in plenty of time. Check out the light-colored, oval willow basket or the deeper brown, rectangular basket, to start.

2) Stock it with beer. Here are two sets of picks to get you started.

For the afficionado:

Troegs Mad Elf (11%), Belgian Strong Dark Ale
Unibroue Terrible (10.5%), Belgian Strong Dark Ale
Samuel Smith’s Winter Welcome (6%), Winter Warmer
Rogue Mogul Madness (6.6%), Winter Warmer
Young’s Double Chocolate Stout (5.2%), Chocolate Sweet Stout

For the craft-curious (an introductory pack):

Bell's Two Hearted Ale (7%), American IPA
Founder’s Pale Ale (5.4%), American Pale Ale
Breckenridge Vanilla Porter (4.7%), American Porter
Harpoon Chocolate Stout (5.9%), American Stout
Brooklyn Lager (5.2%), Red Lager

3) Accessorize. Gift baskets are loads more fun when they’re filled with appropriate tchotchkes, nestled between the big items. Head start:

Sierra Nevada Hefeweizen Glass
Glow in the Dark Dead Guy Yo-Yo
Stone Arrogant Bastard Soap
3D Neuschwanstein Beer Stein LE

Got it? Good. You can find our shipping address under Contact Us at the bottom of the page... thanks in advance!
