Anheuser-Busch Is Donating 480,000 Cans of Drinking Water to Puerto Rico and California

by Alexander Frane on Oct 17, 2017 in Beer

In the wake of the catastrophes in both Puerto Rico and Northern California, Anheuser-Busch is responding by sending truck-loads of canned, purified drinking water to relief sites. A-B periodically pauses beer production throughout the year at its Cartersville, GA, brewery to produce clean, safe emergency drinking water to be ready to help when disasters like these hit.  The water being sent to California and Puerto Rico was already canned and ready to be shipped when the Red Cross issued an urgent request to support communities hit by the two disasters, a report from A-B said.

Two trucks, each with over 50,000 cans of water, have been sent to California as it continues to be devastated by wildfires. Five truckloads are being sent from Jacksonville, FL, to Puerto Rico for hurricane relief, and additional cans are being distributed in coordination with Macy’s in Puerto Rico. A-B is working Cervecería Nacional Dominicana (CND), Macy’s and the American Red Cross to help distribute water.

Earlier this year, A-B donated water to aid hurricane victims in Florida and Texas.
