Monk's Cafe to Tap Rare Zwanze Lambic, Oct. 1

Beer

Zwanze was first brewed in 2008 with rhubard and this year's brew will be made with raspberries, blueberries, and vanilla. It is considered a rare beer because it is only tapped once a year at select locations around the world and each vintage is different. The word zwanze in Brussels dialect refers to sarcastic humor which is the inspiration behind the experimental and changing aspect of the beer. Cantillon brewer Jean Van Roy has used the beer and its celebration day as a reason for lambic lovers to convene.
Besides Zwanze, Monk’s will also be tapping four other Cantillon beers along with a whole host of other rare brews.
