Air Your Grievances and Show Off Your Strength at Grey Lodge Pub's Festivus Celebration, Dec. 20

Festivus is a holiday for the rest of us. Traditionally, Festivus is celebrated by performing Feats of Strength, holding the Airing of Grievances and, of course, not decorating the Festivus Pole. Join Grey Lodge Pub on Sunday, December 20, from 5–10 PM for a special Festivus celebration featuring all of your favorite Festivus traditions.
 

Grey Lodge Pub has hosted a good ol’ Festivus, complete with a bare aluminium pole, for the past three years, and 2015’s Festivus is sure to be a humbug of a time. Compete to win prizes during the Feats of Strength by hoisting the Big Mug o’Pennies or arm wrestling. If strength isn’t your strong suite, compete to win prizes for the best ugly sweater, the nicest ugly sweater, and the best homemade ugly sweater. In addition to the competitions, a traditional Airing of the Grievances will also be held open mic-style.
 

And what would Festivus be without beer? The tap list for the evening includes plenty of Christmas favorites like Manayunk Festivus, Sly Fox Christmas, Troegs Mad Elf, and more. Pair these brews with the traditional Festivus meatloaf dinner that the kitchen will be serving up.

Festivus is also the perfect time to finish up your holiday shopping. Bryan Kolesar, author of Beer Lover’s Mid-Atlantic, will be hanging out to sell and sign copies of his book. We’ve also heard that Festivus Miracles are known to happen, so be on the lookout for those. Merry Festivus!
