Head to the Springs for Maker's Mark Weekend at The Broadmoor

Make Your Mark
by Carrie Dow on Jul 7, 2016 in Event Listing

Looking for a weekend to escape the big city and instead immerse yourself in the intimate details of American Bourbon? Is your favorite brown spirit Maker’s Mark? Head for Colorado Springs for the Maker’s Mark Weekend August 26 and 27 at The Broadmoor Resort.

As a part of the resort’s summer long series “A Moveable Feast,” The Broadmoor is bringing together people for small-group culinary and beverage experiences with noted chefs, winemakers and in August, famed distillery Maker’s Mark for a weekend of education, eating and fun.

Guests will have the opportunity to meet with Rob Samuels, Chief Operating Officer and eighth generation bourbon distiller at Maker’s Mark. Guests will also have the opportunity to sample and enjoy Marker’s Mark flights and eat private meals paired with cocktails. Events include an evening reception with Rob Samuels, flight tastings, cocktail classes and the grand finale the Southern Heritage Dinner at La Taverne at the resort.

The event begins Friday, August 26, with the evening cocktail reception. Guests are encouraged to arrive by 5 PM for the festivities. Saturday, August 27, events include a flight tasting in the morning, cocktails and questions in the afternoon and the dinner that night. Packages also include Sunday Brunch the next morning.

Packages for the weekend, including room, all the events and Sunday Brunch, start at $725 per person based on double occupancy. You don't have to be a resort guest to attend the Southern Heritage Dinner on Saturday. Sign up for the dinner only for $150 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Get more information or make reservations on The Broadmoor website.

The Broadmoor Resort in Colorado Springs is Colorado’s longest-running consecutive winner of both AAA 5-diamond and Forbes Travel Guide 5-star awards and features a variety of ways to enjoy a weekend in the Springs. Opportunities for guests include championship-quality golf courses, an award-winning spa, indoor/outdoor pools, nine restaurants, a bowling alley and outdoor adventures through its new Wilderness Experiences.
